Berry World

I'm a senior business woman constantly learning and striving to improve and increase our exposure to tourism and locals alike. Originally from Western Australia, I love living and working in Timboon.

Gascom (AU) Pty Ltd

Berry World has existed as a commercial and 'pick your own' strawberry and blackberry farm for 58 years. We purchased it from original owners, Joy and Alan Kerr in 2014. During our tenure we have added the Berry Good Thai restaurant (run by 2 Thai national chefs & 1 Thai cook) and Berry Good Accommodation for holiday makers. In addition, we have 2 ponies, 3 pet sheep and some chickens. Kids (and parents) love to feed the animals as well as run, play and pick strawberries. We also grow veges for the restaurant and have added an orchard of apples, nashis, pears, cherries and raspberries.

Distinguished and Famous people from Anglesea

Anglesea's connections with distinguished people include the pages of illustrated books and the town's junior football ground. Both have supported careers familiar well beyond the Surf Coast.

🎨 Robert Ingpen

Illustrator Robert Ingpen has made his home and worked in Anglesea. Born in Geelong and trained at RMIT, he became internationally recognised for illustration, receiving the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1986. His work on classic stories has introduced new readers to books already familiar to earlier generations. The coastal connection is a working home: a place where an illustrator's close observation and imagination could turn a familiar tale into a fresh visual experience.

🏅 Patrick Dangerfield

Patrick Dangerfield played junior football at Anglesea Football Club, a connection he has continued to acknowledge in supporting community football. His AFL career began with Adelaide before he moved to Geelong. He won the Brownlow Medal in 2016 and played in Geelong's 2022 premiership team. Behind those national honours is the local club where he grew up playing, learning the game before it became a profession and a regular subject of weekend conversation across the country.
